PUBG makers earned close to $1 billion revenue in 2018
The makers of the Playerunknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) game--PUBG Corp-- reported a revenue earning of $920 million in 2018 which translates to approximately Rs 6,363 crore. The company also reported a profit of $310 million or around Rs 2,143 crore during the same time. Note that these number are for PUBG Corp, the makers of the original PUBG PC game and not PUBG Mobile that is made by Tencent Games. While the major chunk of this revenue is from the PC game, PUBG Corp might making an undisclosed amount from a licensing deal with Tencent Games as well for the immensely popular PUBG Mobile.
The figures also revealed the fact that PUBG continues to be majorly focused on PCs and not on mobile for the original makers of the game. Asia is the largest market for PUBG with the company making 53% of it revenue from this region followed by North America, according to a report by VG247.
Earlier this year, PUBG Corp. had launched the Lite version of PUBG PC called PUBG Lite in beta mode. It’s a standalone edition of PUBG PC and players don’t need the original version to play this one. According to PUBG Corp, the new version is designed for "players in areas where the core game's required specifications are more difficult to achieve due to the hardware available." PUBG Lite is meant for playing on PCs with low system requirements.

With PUBG Mobile being one of the most famous battle royale game and since its launch, the game has taken the world by storm.
